The family-run Tarabichi Print & Packaging (TPP) group of companies presented Allaoui Graphic Machinery GmbH (AGM) with a major challenge as part of an expansion into the African market: TPP wanted to enter the market at short notice with a very special machine configuration, which would enable them to meet every possible customer requirement in packaging printing.
Accordingly, the assignment to AGM was to supply a printing press with the following equipment:
- 8 printing units, all with insertion/preparation for Interdeck dryers
- 4 Interdeck dryers
- 2 coating units with 2 drying units in between
- Inline Foiler
- Hybrid press (UV and conventional)
- Elevated press with non-stop option at feeder and delivery
After 2 months of intense market research, AGM found what TPP was looking for in Augsburg, Germany: the Manroland 708 LTTLV HiPrint was a nearly perfect fit with only the non-stop system and the elevation missing. AGM therefore retrofitted the missing desired configurations with Manroland experts as part of the press overhaul. All 12 units were completely cleaned and over 160 wear and tear parts were renewed.
The new packaging printing plant in Nigeria is thus well prepared to meet all customer requirements and to produce print jobs quickly and in the best possible quality, even with cold foil.
The biggest surprise, however, came after installation and commissioning in Lagos: Allaoui Graphic Machinery GmbH had apparently just installed the longest offset press in the entire country.
